'Ring of Fire' by Sarah Walker

One Day Perimeter Book Shop and Artist Talk w Sarah Walker

Art, Shop, Talk

Melbourne’s Perimeter Books are back to hold another One Day Book Shop at the Nishi Gallery.

The shop coincides with the launch of a new book and exhibition – ‘Second Sight’ by Melbourne photographer, Sarah Walker. Walker is the winner of the inaugural 2018 Perimeter Small Book Prize. An exhibition at Nishi Gallery will present a selection of works from this publication. ‘Second Sight’ is a cynical examination of the relationship between spirituality, ritual and performance in our collective search for meaning.

The Perimeter One Day Shop featured a range of key titles from their Melbourne bookstore and distributor’s stable of European, US and Australian publishers, including new books from MACK (London), Spector Books (Leipzig), Editions Patrick Frey (Zurich), Libraryman (Paris/Stockholm), Nieves (Zurich), Architectural Association (London), The Ice Plant (Los Angeles), TBW (Oakland), Onomatopee (Eindhoven), Roma Publications (Amsterdam), Fw: Books (Amsterdam), Valiz (Amsterdam) and more.

Perimeter director, Dan Rule, will be there on the day to discuss ‘Second Sight’ with Sarah Walker. They will explore the themes of performance, spirituality and ritual behind the work, and talk about the process of translating a collection of photos into an art book.
