A group of soldiers in a small town on the Mekong River are infected with a sleeping illness, causing hallucinations to become indistinguishable from reality. This piece of contemporary Thai cinema is directed by Apichatpong “Jo” Weerasethakul.

Cemetery of Splendour is part of the National Film and Sound Archive’s ‘New Romantics’ series – a heady mix of nostalgia and national dreaming.
