Sadness, is an examination of the tenuous boundaries between material and digital. The examination of the boundaries will take place through the appropriation and reconfiguration of 3D video game models and concept art. The images and the models taken from a range of video games all depict characters heightened emotional states , particularly of sadness. Informed by Accelerationist theories of acceleration of technology, this project will integrate how video games might shape and reconfigure human emotion, affect and desire.
